MWSA ANNOUNCEMENT: CHANGE TO OUTDOOR RANGE RULE

MWSA Membership | Published on 10/24/2021
Due to an increased number of reports of binary triggers being used on the Outdoor Range with concerns of all shots not hitting the berm and potentially not remaining on our range, the Board of Directors is implementing an emergency Rule Change to the Outdoor Range Rules effective immediately to ban the use of binary triggers and any other modification intended to increase a firearms rate of fire approximating full auto. See wording below.

PRIOR WORDING

13. NO FULL AUTO, SLIDE FIRE OR BUMP FIRING IS ALLOWED ON THE RANGE.

UPDATED WORDING EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

13. NO FULL AUTO, SLIDE FIRE, BUMP FIRE, BINARY TRIGGER, OR FIREARMS WITH ANY OTHER MODIFICATIONS APPROXIMATING FULL AUTO FIRE, ARE ALLOWED ON THE RANGE.

The formal Outdoor Range Rules are currently being revised and will be updated on the website when completed. A copy of this email notification will be posted on the Outdoor Range.

If any member is aware of another member who did not receive this email notification, please:

A) pass it along to them,

B) Have them email the Club’s Membership Committee, membershipMWSA@gmail.com, so that their records can be updated to ensure delivery of future communications.

To restate the Club’s position, ALL shots fired on any range should be at an intended target. On the Outdoor Range any shot that misses the target should impact a berm. ALL shots fired on any range need to remain on the range.

Many members do not realize how close our neighbors are, so are encouraged to go look at the satellite image from Google Maps

Any questions can be emailed to any of the Club Officers. Contact email addresses are on the website.
