Major Waldron's Ranges

Major Waldron Sportsmen's Association offers a wide choice of ranges to accommodate the various disciplines (click the menu options on the left for more info).

Shotgun Fields & Courses:

  • 2 Skeet Fields (1 traditional, 1 modern)

  • 2 Trap Fields

  • 1 Sporting Clay Course

Rifle Range:

  • Range is 300 yards

  • Fifteen covered stations

  • Targets are set at 100, 200 and 300 yards

  • Shooting benches and gun racks

Outdoor Range (short side):

  • Range is 50 yards

  • Fifteen covered stations

  • Targets are set at 10 yards, 15 yards, 25 yards, 50 yards and 50 feet

  • Shooting benches and gun racks

Outdoor Range Qualification: 9:00 AM every month on the Sunday following the General Membership Meeting. Bring your own firearm, ammo, targets, ear and eye protection, and supplies needed to demonstrate that you can understand and follow the outdoor range rules after the classroom session. The demonstration portion of the course requires that attendees set up targets properly, shoot at them, follow and understand range rules, and safely conduct themselves according to MWSA rules and practices.

Indoor Range:

  • Year round shooting

  • Ten movable shooting stations

  • Shooting distance up to 25 yards

Indoor Range Open Shooting:  Open shooting is only available on the first Thursday of the month for the Summer. It will be open every Thursday starting September 25th. The range is open to members and non-members alike. Standard range fees apply - $3 for members, $10 for non-members. Note: If no one shows up by 7:15 p.m. the range officer will likely lock up and leave.
