MWSA's Work Program explained
Keeping a club the size of Major Waldron Sportsmen's Association in good working order, as well as running the vast number of programs such as gun safety courses, 4H, hunter safety, Women In The Outdoors and the annual food and toy drives, to name just a few, requires a lot of work. Major Waldron's believes that a strong club is only as strong as it's membership and how much each member pitches in to help keep the club in good condition and making sure there are enough people to run these important programs. The Work Program was started to ensure that all Major Waldron's members participate in keeping our club the very best it can be. If we had not instituted this work program we would have had to hire outside help which would increase our membership dues. Major Waldron Sportsmen's Association requires each member to perform at least 5 hours of work a year to help maintain the club's upkeep, grounds, and programs. There are work parties held throughout the year led by committee heads as well as many programs run by the club which need volunteers. There are a wide variety of tasks that can be performed from mowing, to building and range upkeep to teaching or helping out with the many programs that Major Waldron's offers. Each member must get a Work Program form and have the committee member whom he worked under sign off on the hours worked. These forms need to be turned in with a member's membership renewal form each year. Understanding that there are some people who's lives are too busy to take part in the Work Program, Major Waldron's has a 'buy-out' option that allows those members to instead pay an additional $35 in substitution to their hours worked. Members who cannot participate in the Work Program must send an additional $35 with their regular membership dues. The new Work Program form (click here) can be found here. Members are reminded that they must either turn in their completed Work Program forms or send an additional $35 with their membership renewal if they choose the buy-out option. |
