Basic Rifle (See NRA Classes):

This NRA course teaches new or inexperienced shooters the foundations in safety and use of rifles.


Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP):

Tactical Rifle 101 & Rifle Sight-In

Date: Sept. 21, 2008
0800-1700 Exclusive use of the short range, one hour on the long range in the afternoon
Cost: $20.00 members and $25.0 non-members.  Pre-registration required.

Topics Covered:
Sighting in;
Positional shooting: Standing, squat, kneeling, sitting, prone;
Movement Drills;
Shooting from behind all types of cover;
There will be a final individual blind exercise.

The short range course:
Will be run much like Tactical Practice for handguns but using rifles. Ranges will be from 7-100 yards. Any type of rifle from a bolt action Scout rifle to a M1A would be appropriate for the course. .22 Rim fires are welcome.

The long range course:
Sighting in for long range shooting;
Reading the wind;
Judging distance;
Drop charts;
Precision shooting from 1-300 yards;
Final individual blind exercise.

An equipment list will be emailed to each person who is interested in the course. Class size is limited to 18 people. It is also a prerequisite to get into TR102.

Tactical Rifle 102

Second in the TR series this will concentrate on rapid target acquisition and engagement from 7-50 yards from the standing and kneeling positions.

Long range sight in from 100 - 300 yards. TR101 or this sight in session are a prerequisite before taking PR102.
